The National Theater "Ivan Vazov" was built at the beginning of XX century by the two Austrian architects Felner and Helmer. The theater is one of the most beautiful buildings in Sofia. It has a capacity of 1000 seats in the main hall and two camera stages with 120 seats. The stage in the main hall was built by two German firms "Krupp" and "Mann" in 1923 and it functions until today. During the past 10 years, it can be said that Bulgarian theater has its renaissance because of the new plays and actors. The theater bears the name of Ivan Vazov - the most famous Bulgarian writer and poet who lived during its construction.
