lake Bled is 50 km from the capital Ljubljana. It is one of the most beautiful and romantic places in Europe. Here in the lake is th only one Slovenian island. A long time ago there was a sanctuary of the Slavic Goddess of Love. Late in XV c. a church devoted to Virgin Mary was erected on the same place.

For the first time a castle by the lake shore was mentioned in XI c. There are two inner courtyards, Romanesque tower, fortress wall, XVI c chapel. Today it is a museum and interior is predominantely Baroque style.
