Arrival in Sofia. Transfer to the hotel for accommodation and time at leisure. Overnight in Sofia.
DAY 3 |
Breakfast. Sightseeing tour of Plovdiv - European capital of culture 2019. Walk in the Old town - Ethnographic Museum, Roman Stadium, St. Constantine and Helena Church, etc. Visit to the Roman Theatre, which was build in the 2nd century AD under the rule of the Roman emperor Trajan and is nowadays considered to be the largest surviving Roman construction in Bulgaria. In the afternoon a trip to the famous Bachkovo Monastery, located only 30 kilometres away from Plovdiv. Sightseeing tour in the complex. Drive back to Plovdiv. Overnight in Plovdiv.
DAY 4 |
Breakfast. Check-out the hotel and departure for the beautiful town of Veliko Tarnovo. On the way stop for a visit to the Valley of Roses and the town of Kazanlak famous for the Thracian tomb included in the list of UNESCO world cultural heritage. We continue through the mountainous Shipka Pass and then take a break for a walk at the ethnographic open-air museum Etara. Arrival in Veliko Tarnovo in the late afternoon. Check-in at the hotel. Overnight in Veliko Tarnovo.
DAY 5 |
Breakfast. Sightseeing tour of Veliko Tarnovo with a visit of the mediaeval Tsarevets Fortress located on a picturesque hill, Samovodska street market, etc. Drive to the nearby village of Arbanassi, declared an architectural reserve. Drive to the village of Arbanassi, famous for its well preserved 17th and 18th century churches and the typical Revival architecture of its houses. In the afternoon departure for Bucharest. Arrival in Bucharest in the evening. Accommodation and overnight in Bucharest.
DAY 6 |
Breakfast. Guided sightseeing tour of Bucharest with local guide - the Palace of Parliament (House of People), Parliament Square, Revolution Square, Romanian Athenaeum, Triumphal Arch, etc. Free afternoon for exploring the city – one may stroll in the Old town and the main pedestrian area, visit museums and galleries, etc. Departure for Sinaia. Check-in at the hotel. Overnight in Sinaia.
DAY 7 |
Breakfast. Morning visit of the famous Peles Castle in Sinaia - residence of the Romanian royal family at the end of 19th - beginning of 20th century. A tour to Bran for a visit of the popular Bran Castle, renowned also as Dracula`s Castle. City tour in the old mediaeval part of the town of Brasov: the Black Church, the old city hall, Strada Sforii, etc. Drive back to Sinaia. Overnight in Sinaia.
DAY 8 |
After breakfast proceed from Sinaia to Bucharest airport for departure.
