DAY 1 |
Arrival in Zagreb. Meet and greet with your guide. Transfer to the hotel and accommodation. Overnight in Zagreb.
DAY 2 |
Breakfast. Walking tour of Zagreb (approx. 2 hours). Highlights of the tour include the biggest Catholic cathedral in Croatia, Dolac market, mediaeval Stone Gate, St Mark's church with its famous colour-tiled roof, Lotrscak tower, Ban Josip Jelacic central square. Free time in the centre for a walk around the parks or individual visit to museums. In the afternoon – visit to the mountain Medvednica for a walk to the old fortress Medvedgrad connected to the legends for the Black Queen (“Crna Kraljica”). Return to hotel. Overnight in Zagreb.
DAY 3 |
Breakfast. Drive to Plitvice Lakes - one of the most beautiful and well-preserved natural areas in the country. This is why the entire lakes and their surrounding area were declared a national park in 1949 and are listed on the UNESCO`s list of World Heritage Sites. It is a valley situated between high forested mountains in which lie, one below another, a string of sixteen beautiful lakes of crystal blue and green waters. Fed by small streams and brooks, they spill into each other in 92 foaming cascades and thundering waterfalls. The Plitvice Lakes` scenery will simply delight you regardless whether you are walking the paths and wooden bridges, taking a boat ride or just taking photographs. You will take a walking tour in the national park that continues about 4 hours. Drive to Zadar. Accommodation and overnight at the hotel in Zadar area.
DAY 4 |
Breakfast. Walking tour in the old part of Zadar – cathedral church of St. Anastasia, old Roman forum, St. Donat church, the unusual sea organ powered by the wind and the sea. When the sea pushes air through the whistles, a series of melancholy chords are played, with the sound emerging through the perforated stone stairs. Next to the Sea Organ is the Sun Salutation – circle of glass collects the sun's rays by day, stores the energy, and emits it as a flickering light show after dark. Drive to Shibenik where you can admire the great St. Jacob cathedral included in UNESCO world heritage list. Accommodation in Split area. Overnight.
DAY 5 |
Breakfast. Walking tour in Trogir (approx. 1 hour) where you can admire the narrow streets, Romanesque and Gothic architecture, local town museum and of course the spectacular St. Lawrence cathedral. From here you continue to Split, world famous for Roman emperor Diocletian’s palace which is the heart of the nowadays city. Walking tour (approx. 1 hour) around the squares – Peristyle, People's, Fruit, Republican. You will witness the art of the local sculpturer Ivan Mestrovic – Grgur Ninski statue, Marco Marulic statue. Drive to Neum (Bosnia&Herzegovina) and accommodation. Overnight in Neum.
DAY 6 |
Breakfast. Drive to Dubrovnik – most popular tourist site in Croatia, that Bernard Shaw called “pearl of the Adriatic”. Walking tour in the old town: Stradun street, Franciscan monastery, Clock tower, St. Blaise church, Sponza palace, Cathedral, Rector's palace, old port. Free time in the town centre. Overnight in Dubrovnik area.
DAY 7 |
Breakfast. Transfer to Dubrovnik airport and departure.
