DAY 1

Departure at 8:00 a.m. in front of Gray Line` s office ( address: Sofia, 7 Knyaz Aleksandar Dondukov Blvd.).

Departure for Kazalak. You will travel on a very scenic and beautiful road that goes along the Balkans mountain until you reach the famous Bulgarian Rose Valley.Visit to the unique Thracian Tomb included in the list of UNESCO and dating back to the 4th century BC. Its murals and paintings are Bulgaria’s best preserved artistic masterpieces from the Hellenistic period. Visit to the Rose Museum. The Museum of Roses has a rich collection of objects, pictures and documents that reveal the history of Bulgarian oleaginous-roses growing.

Departure to the Ethnographic Complex Damascena, located in the heart of the Valley of Roses near by village of Skobelevo, where you will learn why Bulgaria is famous for rose oil production. Guided tour - Examination of an ethnographic collection and an ancient installation for the production of rose oil, modern distillery, Thracian cultural center with fragments of Thracian sanctuaries and mounds.

Drive back to Sofia.

Duration - 12 hours. This tour ends in front of Gray Line`s office ( address: Sofia, 7 Knyaz Aleksandar Dondukov Blvd.).

Small group tours. Minimum of 2 participants is required to confirm this tour . If this minimum is not met, the tour will be cancelled and you will receive an email within 24 hours before departure. In the unlikely event of such a cancellation, your choice of a refund, reschedule or alternative tour will be offered.

Please note that the Damascus Rose blooms for only about 22-25 days, from the second half of May to mid-June. During the rest of the year, unfortunately you will not be able to observe the rose fields in bloom.
